Worship Services

8:30 a.m. Worship, Chapel

This intimate service is held in our lovely 50-seat Chapel with music accompanied by piano.

10:10 a.m. Worship, Sanctuary

This worship service features music led by our Chancel Choir and accompanied by organ.

Children's Worship for ages 4 through 3rd grade is held during the 10:10  a.m. worship service. The children will leave the Sanctuary after the Anthem and return at the Doxology to conclude the worship service with their families.


NOTE:  Fully vaccinated worshippers and staff are no longer asked to wear a mask indoors. 

We request that all non-vaccinated individuals continue to wear a mask indoors.


For children’s worship, children ages five and over must mask indoors. Masks will be provided for any children who do not have them. 

When outside, masks are not required.

Faith Practice (currently suspended)
9:00 a.m., Mecklenburg Hall

ALL ages gather around tables in Mecklenburg Hall to practice creative ways to dig into the Bible, practice talking about our faith with one another, and practice ways we can continue learning about our faith throughout the week while implementing the Faith Five approach.

SMPC provides secure, nurturing care for children during all worship services. Rooms for infants, toddlers and preschoolers are staffed with professional nursery personnel and parent disciples. All paid nursery staff have completed SMPC Children, Youth, Volunteers and Staff Protection Policy training.

The Celebration of the Lord's Supper:
SMPC schedules Walk Through Communion services once a month.  Gluten-free options are available.  All are welcome at the table!

Join South Mecklenburg Presbyterian Church



First Sundays (the first Sunday of each month), offers Holy Communion at four services (8:10 a.m., 9:00 a.m., 10:10 a.m. and 5:10 p.m.), Common Ground (worship for all ages and abilities) at 9:00 a.m., K-5 Music with Zach Bowyer and Rebecca Guzman at  5:00  p.m., BYG (Big Youth Group) at 5:00 p.m., Parenting Workshops at 5:00 p.m., and Sacred Space worship at 5:10 p.m. in the Chapel. 


This meaningful worship service has moved to a new time and location.  Moving to the first Sunday of the month at 5:10 p.m. in the Chapel has allowed us to expand the contemplative nature of the service.  The setting is more intimate and the space lends itself to new opportunities for reflective and meditative worship.  The 30-minute service include communions and prayer as we gather around the Word with scripture and reflection.  Childcare is provided. South Mecklenburg Presbyterian Church provides families and individuals with special needs within our church and local community a welcoming place to gather, connect and grow their faith by offering a monthly worship service called Common Ground.

NEW!  K-5 MUSIC, FIRST SUNDAYS, 5:00 P.M., CHOIR ROOM Children ages four years through 5th Grade will enjoy time with Zach Bowyer, Director of Music Ministry, and Rebecca Guzman, Director of Spiritual Formation, to explore different instruments, learn some songs, and fellowship with one another.

There’s room for EVERYONE at First Sundays!  We feel the Spirit of God moving and we are very excited about the new thing God is doing among us!
