About the Event
The Preaching Ministry of Dietrich Bonhoeffer
Wednesdays at 6:30 pm, beginning October 2, in the Chapel Building
The witness of the renowned German theologian, Dietrich Bonhoeffer, continues to resonate for followers of Christ in a world where conflict and pain challenge hope. Executed for his active opposition to Hitler and the Nazi regime, his writings and ministry have had a profound influence on the church. Bonhoeffer said, “We live today under the shadow of Christ’s coming, not some dreaded disasters, some fate, but the coming of the God of justice, of love, and of peace. Not finding our own way into the future, to God, but receiving the future from God. We know that we cannot go to God, but God comes to us, enfolding us in his unbelievable grace.”
In this study, we will be reading from, Dietrich Bonhoeffer’s Christmas Sermons, edited by Edwin Robertson. While the book is out of print, it is available on Apple Books and Kindle. There are also used copies available on Amazon. If you have any trouble accessing the book, let us know and we will make sure you are able to participate.
