NEW! First Sundays
In addition to our 8:10 a.m. and 10:10 a.m. worship services, First Sundays include Holy Communion at all services, and:
9:00 a.m., The Commons
First Sundays (see below)
South Mecklenburg Presbyterian Church provides families and individuals with special needs within our church and local community a welcoming place to gather, connect and grow their faith by offering a monthly worship service called Common Ground.
For more information about Common Ground or if you want to join the planning committee please email Rebecca Guzman, Director of Spiritual Formation, rebecca@smpchome.org.
5:10 p.m., The Chapel
First Sundays (see below)
This meaningful worship service is moving to a new time and location. Moving to the first Sunday of the month at 5:10 p.m. in the Chapel will allow us to expand the contemplative nature of the service. The setting will be more intimate and the space will lend itself to new opportunities for reflective and meditative worship. The 30-minute service will include communion and prayer as we gather around the Word with scripture and reflection. Childcare is provided.
We invite you to join us on Sunday mornings after the 10:10 a.m. worship service for lemonade and cookies outside in the Pedestrian Plaza. In the Narthex, just outside the sanctuary doors, you can enjoy a cup of coffee and grab a muffin at SMPC’s own “Coffee Grounds.” These are great places to meet people and learn more about what’s going on at SMPC!

Where do I park?
Park in one of our visitor parking spots reserved just for you. These parking spots are located directly across from the main doors to our sanctuary. Enter our property through the main driveway off of Blakeney Heath Road; turn left before you get to the circle.
Are visitors welcome at any service or activity?
Yes! SMPC welcomes guests to Sunday worship and many programs throughout the week. With the church's location in fast-growing south Charlotte, SMPC often gets the privilege of saying hello to newcomers.
As a visitor, will I need to do anything special?
No. Guests often like to check out SMPC without making a big splash. The church does not ask for anyone to identify themselves. SMPC won't contact you unless you would like to share your information.
What should I wear?
SMPC is by no means a dressy church. Men wear everything from jackets and ties to slacks and sports shirts. Women wear everything from dresses to slacks and casual shirts.
What about children?
SMPC provides secure, nurturing care for children during all worship services. Rooms for infants, toddlers and preschoolers are staffed with professional nursery personnel and parent disciples. All paid nursery staff have completed SMPC Children, Youth, Volunteers and Staff Protection Policy training. Children's Worship for ages 4 through 3rd grade is held in the Chapel during the 10:10 a.m. worship service. The children will leave the Sanctuary after the Anthem and return at the Doxology to conclude the worship service with their families.
Questions? Contact Rebecca Guzman, Director of Spiritual Formation.
What if I'm ready to join?
SMPC offers a quarterly Inquirer's Class to guests who want to learn more about the Presbyterian faith. The class is led by Pastor Matt Brown and Nancy Metzler, Director of Hospitality and Connection. It's a great way to get connected to the life of the church!
Interested? Contact Nancy Metzler, Director of Hospitality & Connection.
