Dear Vacation Bible School Volunteers!
I want to thank all of you who helped make Vacation Bible School a part of your ministry to the children and families of SMPC and our surrounding community. We had an exhilarating and exhausting week at the Shake it Up Café, experiencing God’s recipe for our lives through story, song, art, science, worship, mission, snacks and play! Did you know that it took us 60 volunteers working each day to supervise, instruct, guide, and nurture 210 children—our final count? Here are just a few of the comments I heard from children over the course of our week together, “I don’t want this to end?” “AWWW, I don’t want to go home!”And, “Are we going to do this again next year?” Believe me, these words from children constitute high praise. In addition, I overheard several comments from volunteers and parents as well—words such as, “Everything is running so smoothly!” “This is awesome.”“We are definitely doing this again next year!” “We are going to start coming to church here!” “Awesome props!” You all have been a gift to me personally and to the children and families of this congregation, as well as the children and families of our surrounding community. Thank you for serving where and when you are called. VBS would not have been wonderful had it not been for you. Thank you all for all you have done, are doing, and will continue to do.

Vacation Bible School is over. Now what?
Children’s worship continues throughout the summer during the 10:00 worship service. Sunday school resumes on Rally Day Sunday, September 11 at 9:30. Also on Rally Day, children’s worship will move to 11:00.
COMING THIS FALL!! Come, read, taste and see that the Lord is God!
Several moms, many of whom you have gotten to know this week at VBS, are embarking on a Disciple 1 Bible study this fall on Thursday mornings, beginning September 15th from 9:45 – 11:45 in the Session Room. I invite you to participate in a study that is sure to include giggling, praying, reading, and sharing. The Disciple Bible study series transforms and renews lives. Childcare is available upon request!
