Ten-Cents-A-Meal
On the last Sunday of each month, we collect a special offering that goes to the Charlotte Presbytery to distribute to local agencies that provide hunger relief. We ask individuals to donate 10 cents per meal each month to help fight hunger.
While the Presbytery allocates funds both to hunger and at risk youth programming, SMPC designates our donations to hunger specifically.
In 2011, we collected $5,714.71 which is equivalent to 57,147 meals during which individuals put aside money to help fight hunger.
