SMPC’S NURSERY STAFF

SMPC is blessed to have nursery personnel caring for our children each Sunday morning. Our staff is Red-Cross CPR certified and has been trained in our Child Protection Policy. Our nursery program provides care for children from infancy to kindergarten. In addition to our paid staff, we also have SMPC adults and/or youth assisting in each room during the worship services. We appreciate all that the SMPC nursery staff does and value the consistency their presence provides for our children.

Included in this packet is a nursery information card. Please fill out your card completely and return to the church office.

Our security check-in and out procedure is adopted from the YMCA. Sign-in sheets and security tags are located in each classroom. Parents are asked to fill out the sign-in sheet completely and include any special instructions that may better enable us to care for your child. Please put a security tag on the back of your child’s shirt or dress and take one with the same number that has been assigned to your child with you. When you return for pick-up, you will show your tag and give both tags back to the teacher. The tags are color coordinated respective to age.

Megan Reynolds is our staff member for the Infant Room. She is beginning her fourth year of working for SMPC and is a student in the Business Honors program at UNC- Charlotte.

Christine Sabato is our staff member for the Toddler Room. She works at Christ Lutheran Children’s Center as a Toddler teacher and at St. Gabriel Catholic School in the After School program.

Tina Mackay is our staff member for the 2 year-old Room. She is a graduate of UNC-Chapel Hill. Tina works at Piney Grove Elementary School in Monroe as a Kindergarten teacher and is pursuing her Master’s Degree in Elementary Education at UNC-Charlotte.

Karen Parnell is our staff member for the 3 year-old Room. Karen has been with SMPC for three years and is a native of Jamaica. She is interested in pursuing a career in childcare and works as a childcare provider for many SMPC families.

Amber Carpenter is our staff member for the 4 year-old Room. She has been with SMPC for one-year. Amber works at the Siskey YMCA in the Children’s Center with children ranging in age from six weeks to nine years.

Noah Godbey is our staff member for the Kindergarten Room. He is a Business student at UNC-Charlotte and worked as a lifeguard prior to his employment with SMPC.

Renee Scott Moore is our Nursery Coordinator. She is the former Director of the Extended Day program at Charlotte Latin School and currently writes for Premier Bride Magazine. Renee manages all staff members as well as all volunteers ensuring that every room has what it needs each Sunday.
