Sunday School for First - Fifth Graders We are using Potter's Publishing Workshop Rotation Curriculum What is Potter's Publishing Rotation? - Potter's Publishing has been involved with developing the Workshop Rotation since 1989.
- Potter's goal: To provide curriculum that teaches the Bible so that it brings transformation of children's minds and hearts and leads them to a maturity in Christian faith.
- Children learn best when learning is connected to real life.
- God taught God's people in multiple ways; therefore, we honor children as multi-dimensional learners with God-given multiple intelligences.
- Therefore, we offer workshops in Science, Historical Reenactment, Dance, Astronomy, Cooking, Drama, Bible Knowledge, Movies, Games, Nature, Geography, Puppet, Math, and Art.
Fall 2008 New Beginnings God's Work In Progress Creation As children hear and perform the creation story, they learn that God's creation is not finished but is a work in progress. While shipwrecked on a deserted island, children explore God's "earth machine" as a wondrously balanced ecosystem and learn that God gave them responsibility for its care. A story and a related science experiment teach children that they are created in God's image and through Christ they can be a new creation. Character Counts Joshua Character counts! Children will learn that their character counts in leading their daily lives. Joshua's example of an obedient leadership will help them learn how faithful leaders can bring about new beginnings. As children follow Joshua from entering the Promised Land to his farewell address, they will learn about the qualities of a good leader who trust and obeys God. Through historical reenactment they cross with Joshua into the Promised Land and learn of God's justice through Joshua dividing the Promised Land. They further learn about the consequences of obedience through a game activity. Fairness, justice, obedience and trust are some of the character traits explore to guide children to understand how they too can be God like leaders in their daily lives. We are looking for Rotation Teachers and Shepherds for all grades. Please prayerfully consider serving our children this year.
